Meet Brian :)

Picture
Brian in sunlight. February 2014 :)
Every wedding photographer needs a partner, someone who is a Jack of all trades, with technical skill, know how, an ability to read minds, a talent for staying calm under pressure, and a nonexistent ego. Someone who can cover the angles that the lead photographer needs without putting their own agenda and portfolio above the overall goals of the wedding.

Brian is that guy.  In addition to being a data analyst by day, an amazing writer of plays & novels by night, a brilliant songwriter/singer/guitarist, a Twitter jokester regularly AND an awesome husband to me 24/7, he's ALSO my wedding partner in crime.  He's perfect for the job...he loves nature & being outside, where 90% of our shoots take place.  He loves people and has a knack for putting them at ease.  He has technical skillz with the camera.  He takes beautiful and creative portraits that no one else thinks to get.  He knows me and my style better than anyone. Most importantly, he has his own major artistic talents, and is content to back me up while letting me shine.  It's truly an alliance made in Heaven, and it works beautifully for our marriage as well as our photography business. :)

Most clients get to know him at their engagement shoots.  He's the guy who carries all the bags, hands me various lenses, and makes them laugh (giving me an opportunity to focus on capturing their wonderful and unique relationship)...and so people know him and are comfortable with him when he walks into a wedding venue, camera in hand.  He has a great rapport with the guys and always says just the right thing to the ladies (including me!). :)

Brian went from being an assistant to a second shooter to full wedding partner over the last four + years of our business.  He is a marvelous man who oozes imagination and makes me so proud with each photo he produces.

I edit all the photos, regardless of which one of us takes them.  This way, the style and tone of the images remains consistent and they look great in a wedding album or in an online collection.  Brian often offers insight and help (and um, colorful commentary!) during the process, though! :)

While we are a wedding package deal, and getting to photograph couples in Love together is like being on the longest, most amazing date ever, it IS possible to hire just me (McCall) as the primary photographer and Brian as my assistant for a wedding.  We understand that not every big day requires two full time shooters, and that sometimes it's easier on the budget with just me.  But rest assured that no matter what package you choose, you'll still be getting the full McBrian experience.  Mwahahahaha. :) :) :)
