The light was HEAVENLY. Nichole looked like an enchantress/wood nymph. :)
I had a shoot last week that fulfilled everything on my wishlist.  Nichole, my model, was beautiful, up for anything, and also a natural at posing.  We had cooler temperatures and shot at dawn with the light in all of its golden, magical glory.  The setting was perfect.  The dresses Nichole wore were lovely.  Her make up was just right.  The three floral designs by Laura of Loda Floral Design were impeccable and added that special touch to the entire shoot.  The images themselves were better than I anticipated and I was filled with joy that this was something I had orchestrated from scratch and I was shooting just for me, not for a client, not with a deadline in mind or restrictions...something all mine from start to finish.  I think every photographer needs to do that from time to time to ensure that the joy in one's work is maintained.  The vintage washes I came up with are perfect, and I've had fun tweaking them just a bit to fit each photo.  Please note that these are the least edited photos I have ever done.  While I am adding the special coloration to each individual photo (except for the ones that are obviously natural in color), and occasionally removing a strand of hair or a dark circle from an undereye, the light, tones, and textures are all natural.  It's hard for me to hold back and not OVER-edit, as I often do in my quest for perfection.  But it's rewarding to see that the images themselves stand on their own, in their little retro theme, and I'm extremely proud of them.  Btw, two of the original presets came from the brilliance of European photographer Chris.  Check out his website for his surreal and artistic images.  Many thanks for the inspiration and the tools, Chris! :)

Please check out the entire photo shoot on Facebook.

This week stay tuned for a blog of Donna & Paul's whirlwind elopement (so beautiful!) and then my awesome cool glitter-paint-feather shoot with the stunning Jackie!!!  It's been a good week of shooting!
